How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
ShoreWay Acres is our family business, founded in 1959 as an historic preservation project by my parents, Terence and Blanca Dineen. In addition to working for our family, my own experience includes sales and management positions with Best Western, Holiday Inn and Hilton hotels. My husband, who is our General Manager, was employed by Buffalo Hotel Corporation for 20 years prior joining our family business. Our son, who is our Assistant GM, graduated from the Hagan Business School at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. Our daughter, recently graduated from Boston University School of Hospitality, and is employed as an event planner with The Catered Affair in Boston, MA. She assists us on a part-time basis with special events.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are a third generation family hospitality business that is operating as a preservation project to protect a significant Cape Cod historic property as well as its heritage, hospitality and traditions. Our family continues to live and work on premises as our founders did from the start.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location for ShoreWay Acres Inn. We do also own Green Harbor Waterfront Lodging, a 37-room, pet-friendly property in East Falmouth, Cape Cod.

From Boston: Rte. 3 South to Sagamore Bridge. Travel over bridge, staying in right lane, and take first exit immediately after bridge. Follow exit ramp to traffic light. Turn left and follow to Bourne Rotary. Take Rte 28 South off rotary and follow for 15 miles to Falmouth Center. Turn left onto Main Street at "Queens Buyway" Shops. Follow Main Street for 1/2 mile and turn right onto Shore Street. One block to ShoreWay Acres. From NY, CT, RI: Rte 95 North to Providence. Rte 195 East (Cape Cod) to Rte 25 East. Follow over Bourne Bridge to rotary. Take Rte 28 South off rotary and follow for 15 miles to Falmouth Center. Turn left onto Main Street at "Queens Buyway" Shops. Follow Main Street for 1/2 mile and turn right onto Shore Street. One block to ShoreWay Acres.
