How long have you been in business?
experienceDevon has been in business for 6 months. We are husband and wife team Dave and Sadie Green.
What is your primary product or service?
Customised vacation itinerary planning to Barnstaple UK, Bideford UK and North Devon UK. It is aimed at those travellers who are independent, but need a helping hand to visit authentic England and who are interested in the arts, culture and natural environment. Its is also for those who wish to venture beyond Lomdon but do not know where to go or how to get there.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We became interested in 3 different ways; firstly from our own experience of visiting the US on our own vacations, travelling independently but getting good knowledge from local people wherever we went; secondly, having lived in Bideford, Devon for 4 years we love it here and wish to share the best of the arts, hiking, wildlife, gardens, cafes and historic buildings with visitors. Lastly we are excited about the historical links between Bideford and Barnstaple,UK, with towns in the US. We wish to welcome American visitors to our town and to help make a great vacation experience.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are pretty unique in Devon, England where we are based. Other companies offer escorted tours and off the shelf packages, but we are different and offer tailor made itineraries written for you and based on what your interest, budget, fitness level and timescale will allow for your vacation. we welome vacationers and give you an orientation, lend you a British cell phone, lend you equipment that you need but may not have packed such as binoculars, waterproof jackets and hiking trails; and we are a phone call away during your stay if you need help.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are based in the town of Bideford and cover the North Devon area. North Devon is in the South West of England, the County above Cornwall. There are no plans to expand at present.
